Alex Prager is a director, screenwriter, and artist based in Los Angeles. She was originally best known for her large-scale photographic works.
Her photography has received numerous awards and has been featured in prominent publications, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Times (London), Dazed, The Guardian, Interview Magazine, and Garage.
Prager’s work has been showcased in countless museum exhibitions worldwide, including at various Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA). Her art is held in the collections of major institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and other international public and private collections.
In addition to her photography, Prager is also renowned for her films, which are recognized for their distinctive visual and narrative style.
In 2012, Prager won an Emmy for the short film series Touch of Evil, commissioned by The New York Times. She has collaborated with prominent actors including Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, George Clooney, and Ryan Gosling, among others.
Prager has directed several commercials for high-profile international brands, such as Apple and Hermès, and she directed a Booking.com Super Bowl commercial starring Melissa McCarthy, as well as a Cartier commercial featuring Elle Fanning.
In 2023, Prager was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film. She is currently shooting her debut feature film, DreamQuil.
