Jeppe Rønde

Vita

Jeppe, born in 1973, originally worked as a professional musician and is now one of the most recognized, award-winning Danish filmmakers. Since graduating from the University of Copenhagen with a degree in Film Science and Art History, he has directed short fiction films, feature documentaries and commercials.

 

His debut feature documentary, Jerusalem My Love won countless international prizes. His second feature film, The Swenskas won Best International Director in Toronto, a Robert (Danish Oscar) and a European Film Award nomination (2005). During the following years he won further Roberts for his TV and feature documentary work.

 

His feature film Bridgend premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2015, winning three of the main awards – Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. In 2019, his documentary Almost Human had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and won Best Feature Film as well as silver in Film Craft: Script at Cannes Lions.

 

Jeppe was voted best commercial director in Denmark 2010 and 2017. His charity film for Come4, won a Gold and a Bronze at Cannes (for Direction and Cinematography respectively) as well as a Craft Grand Prix at Eurobest and Gold at Epica Awards. His commercial Momondo DNA Journey made the list of top 20 most shared viral spots in 2016 and picked up awards at most of the important international festivals, including a Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze Cannes Lions.

 

Jeppe’s fifth feature film, Acts of Love, had its world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2025.
